CARE

CARE was founded in 1945 with the mandate to overcome poverty and inequality through the promotion of gender equality and women’s empowerment. In 2017, CARE International worked in 93 countries around the world, supporting poverty-fighting development and humanitarian aid projects, to reach more than 62 million people. CARE seeks a world of hope, inclusion and social justice, where poverty has been overcome and all people live with dignity and security. We put women and girls in the center because we know that we cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities.

 Together with local partners, CARE focuses on:

  1. Humanitarian Action;

  2. Food, nutrition and resilience to climate change;

  3. Sexual, reproductive and maternal health and a life free from violence;

  4. Women’s economic empowerment.
